Phil's Birthday 2008
June 8, 2008
We went to Dave & Buster's in Denver. Phil brought his friends and
they played games until Phil needed to go to work. The boys were
polite and friendly and seemed to have fun.

We're famous again!!!
From the May 18 '08 Denver Post travel section:
http://www.denverpostplus.com/papertrails/showphoto.php?photo=560
Names (left to right): Chanpheng & Alex Botham of Castle Rock, Bouakham Panpradith of Wheat Ridge, and our cousin Alex Sayasouk of Vientiane, Laos
Where photo taken: Vientiane, Laos
Best meal: The best meal we had was at the Mekong Restaurant - the food was delicious and enjoyed on a great patio overlooking the Mekong river, they also had clean restrooms! However, in Vientiane, it is easy to find great food at very cheap prices all over town - small cafes, street vendors, and restaurants are very abundant.
Best deal: Hour-long massages for $3.50 at Mixay Massage, you can choose from a full-body scrub, traditional massage, and foot massages. Food is cheap everywhere. And for cheap transportation, flag a tuk-tuk (half-motorcycle, half-covered cart), you can get across town for about $2 per ride.
Best time to go: January or February, cooler climate and you miss the rainy season.
Best travel tip: Vientiane is an up-and-coming tourist city; over our past two trips, we've seen significant development of new hotels and great restaurants and cafes with more Western influence. To enjoy a perfect morning while still feeling the comforts of home, visit the Vista Wi-Fi cafe located at 011 François Ngin Street near the Mekong. Here you can enjoy a fabulous French-influenced pastry breakfast and latte, stay in touch with friends at home using their free wi-fi internet, and have a relaxing foot massage upstairs at Mixay Massage while enjoying a glass of wine--all for about $8.
